Eligibility

You can apply if you are:

18 years old by 1st June 2008

And

A current full-time student at a UK university* on a degree level or HND course (or equivalent). The course must run for the complete 2007-2008 academic year. Final years are eligible.

*The university must be an accredited UK university and registered with the DfES.

Students of any nationality can apply providing they meet the above requirements.

Gap year students are not eligible to apply.

Returning to camp?

You can go back to camp with BUNAC – providing you are still a full-time student. Once you have a contract from your camp, download the KAMP USA Returner Application Pack here.

Is KAMP right for you?

Just how rewarding and enjoyable your summer will be depends largely on you. To get the most out of it, you’ll need to be conscientious, reliable, have a positive mindset, enthusiastic, flexible, have a good sense of humour and be able to work as part of a team.

Although you won’t be living and working with children to the same extent as a Summer Camp USA counsellor, you will have some contact with the kids on camp so it helps if you genuinely like their company and are able to get on with them.

You may not be doing the most glamorous job in the world but what you do is important to the running of the camp. There’s often a great team spirit among the participants and working in a lively and sociable atmosphere means it’s easy to make new friends; many often travel together after camp.
