Group Flights

Work Canada get the BUNAC group flight

Work Canada participants are required to book a round-trip flight. The easiest and most flexible way to do this is to fly on a BUNAC group flight. This is also an ideal opportunity to meet other participants before you arrive in Canada.

Outward flights are from London to Toronto or Vancouver from February to January with most flights departing in June, July and October. You can expect to pay approximately £496 on a return flight to Toronto in June. Your ticket is valid for a full 12 months and for a small fee, you can change your return flight date while in Canada.

The Group Flight Package includes

  • A BUNAC rep at the departure airport
  • Transfer to your pre-booked arrival accommodation
  • T-shirt and phone card
  • Contact details of fellow BUNACers on your flight before you leave the UK

Independent travel

If you decide to arrange your own flight, you should make arrangements to attend the orientation talk, arrange your own transfers and book your own arrival accommodation in Canada.

We advise you not to book a flight until you have received written confirmation from BUNAC that the Work Authorisation has been issued. If it is delayed, it could be difficult and costly to change your flight. You must show that you have confirmed flights into and out of, North America.

You may want to contact GS World Travel on (020) 7250 0222 who offer competitive prices on flights to Canada with airlines such as Air Canada.

Insurance

Work Canada insurance

It is a programme condition that all participants on Work Canada have adequate insurance for the duration of their stay in Canada. You have the option of taking BUNAC’s Endsleigh policy or arranging your own alternative level of cover.

BUNAC has worked with Endsleigh Insurance Services Ltd to design a policy to cover the needs of the BUNAC traveller, whether you are working in a café in Toronto or ski guiding in Whistler. There are three levels of cover, all you need to do is choose the one that matches your needs.

Special features

  • Designed for working and activity holidays
  • Worldwide cover including USA, Canada & Caribbean
  • Up to 100 sports and activities are included at no extra cost
  • Wide-ranging Winter Sports option provides extra cover for skiing, snowboarding and many other winter sport activities including off-piste, snowparks, guiding and instructing
  • Special electrical item cover for an additional premium
  • Flexible policy: your insurance can be extended whilst abroad (up to a maximum of 24 months total trip duration)
  • This policy has been designed for and is only available through BUNAC; you cannot buy the same policy anywhere else (not even Endsleigh!)

Go to www.bunac.org/endsleighinsurance to find out more, get a quote and to buy your policy.

Full terms and conditions of the policy are provided on the website. We recommend that you read the full policy wording and familiarise yourself with the policy, the inclusions and exclusion, before buying any insurance.

Important information

This policy can only purchased by UK residents while in the UK. If you have already started your trip, you will not qualify for the BUNAC/Endsleigh policy and will need to get an alternative insurance (this is a very common exclusion, please research your alternative carefully).
